environmentally, we are facing a huge surplus of jellyfish in today's oceans, as many of their predators such as turtles, tuna, and sharks have been overfished. climate change is also a huge factor, with jellyfish thriving in warmer water with less oxygen. this disturbs the balance of the entire aquatic ecosystem in a dangerous way, creating risks of jellyfish prey becoming extinct. some jellyfish stings are also deadly to humans.
